The Old Delhi was founded with the mission of filling the void of authentic old delhi style kebabs and rolls for the people of living outside it. The mughlai influence on the cuisine of Old delhi is prevalent and celebrated by everyone who loves a platter of juicy, scrumptious kebabs and more. We aim to put this cuisine on the map like its never been done before.
THE OLD DELHI TEAM
The unique concept of The Old Delhi sprouted very recently following the huge success of the brand Fat Tiger that has a presence in various states.
It’s founders Sahaj and Sahil realized the absence of authentic ethnic cuisine during the pandemic.
Thus began their search for the perfect mouth watering kebabs and other Mughlai recipes that promised to bring a shift back to our heritage in terms of culinary experiences.
Their passion drove them to explore the quintessential streets of Old Delhi from where they rediscovered their love for traditional Desi tastes and flavors by way of recipes passed down for generations.
It became their mantra to reintroduce these mouth watering treasures to the youth of today and turn them into a conversation starter between all age groups.
And this how The Old Delhi was born
From successfully running his family business, Chopra Automobiles, to his promising debut in the food and beverage industry with Fat Tiger, a celebrated global confectionery brand, Sahaj Chopra has had quite a versatile business background.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, Sahaj’s natural entrepreneurial drive led him to take on the workings of his 3rd generation family business – a leading defense distributor in the country that operates as a supplier to the defense sector in India.
With a master’s in business administration, Sahil Arya commenced his career by stepping into the finance side of things. In a year, he switched to the franchise industry and pioneered as a consultant for investors looking into buying franchises. Sahil Arya has since then proven to be a high-energy, global, business development specialist; with significant achievements in supporting international brands expand their core offering in global markets.
